Benefits of a Hired Hand Junior Website with Fly'N P Longhorns

by Holly Williams | Sep 04, 2019
We had the opportunity to interview our #HiredHandCustomer Emma Kate of Fly'N P Longhorns and ask her some questions about her Hired Hand Junior website! Emma Kate recently graduated high school and says that the Longhorn breed has "ignited a fire in [her] soul." Hired Hand Junior is an affordable website option for Longhorn breeders in college, high school, and younger. You can view Emma Kate's website at www.FlyNPLonghorns.com.

How has your Hired Hand Junior site benefited you so far?

"When I saw the Hired Hand Junior websites that were being promoted I thought it would be a great idea to use this as a tool to advertise my World Show Senior Sale heifer, FLY’N P Winter’s Wings. It has been extremely useful to me beyond just representing my Senior Sale heifer. I have had multiple calls from breeders just starting out or breeders that have been in the business for decades. They comment on how impressive it is for such a young kid to be running a business and to buying and selling cattle successfully. I have asked for feedback on my website and I have had a very positive response. I have made 2 sales in the past month because of my website. I have also gotten to dig into the importance of marketing your cattle and the various ways this can be done."

Would you recommend it to other teens who show or sell cattle?

"I highly recommend Hired Hand Junior to youth members! Especially those who are going to pursue a career in agriculture! We are the future of agriculture and what agriculture will look like in our lifetime so it is important to understand the market you are working in and how you can improve it."

How have you used social media to your advantage in this industry?

"Social Media has allowed me to make multiple sales that probably wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for my website and my Facebook page. In my opinion a business’s social presence can make or break your sales."

What is some advice you would give to ranchers who maybe aren't as in tune with technology as your generation?

"There are multiple ways to market your brand and cattle. It is important to understand the market that you are selling to and cater to that specifically. From websites to Facebook pages to sponsoring shows, there are many resources for ranchers to market their animals. Find what works for you and stick with it! It will take a while to see a change but continue to promote your cattle the best you possibly can!"
