Longhorn beef is a healthy and delicious replacement for regular Angus beef. Not only is it leaner than normal beef, but it has lower calories, lower cholesterol, and to some, even a better taste. In some places, you may be able to find longhorn beef in your local grocery store or farmers market, but if not, you can always find local farms online. Cooking Tips

Longhorn beef will cook 30-50% faster than the same size piece of grain fed beef because of it’s lower fat percentage. Because of this, your longhorn beef burgers will be the same size when they're finished cooking as when you started. This means no grease!

If you normally like your beef well done, you will find that you prefer to eat your longhorn beef a little bit more rare than normal. Longhorn beef has a different taste than what people are typically used to and you'll probably surprise yourself with how much you prefer the flavor and less well-done meat.

REMEMBER, you should not cook these burgers as long as a grain-fed, angus burger! If you do, your burger will turn out dry because there isn't as much fat in the meat to insulate the beef. To enjoy the juicy flavor of a longhorn burger, you'll have to adjust your normal burger recipe, heat, and cooking times.
